Removing locking wheel nut.

Post by StoneyMR2 »

Going out of my mind.

Managed to churn up uo one of the locking wheel nuts the other day when doing it up. Went to take it off again and then managed to ping the lock nut key in to the hedge, can't find it anywhere.

Bought a reverse thread bolt removing tool and now I've got that stuck on there.

Any suggestions of getting them off. Don't mind if I damage the locking nuts, I was going to replace them any way.

Help me mr2oc, you're my only hope.

Get the removal tool off and take the car to a tyre fitter, they'll get them off in minutes. When I lost the key for my daily drivers lock nuts, my local tyre place got all 4 off in ten minutes
Do or do not. There is no try

Problem being, I can't get the bolt remover off and car is off the road atthe minute, so can't take her anywhere

Can you post pics, difficult to give advice without seeing type of bolt remover. If it is the left hand thread ones just turn it the other way.

It's a left hand threaded one but when I turn it the other way it just moves freely. It won't tighten or loosen

Big F***ing Hammer :laughing
I could hear them beating the "censored" out of the tool  but they came off and the wheels were unmarked.

Don't know, I was cringing in the reception
I couldn't have watched, but they have MOT'd my MR2 since 2004 and do other jobs on various cars of mine, so I trust them to do a good job :cool1:

Yes using a BFH to shock it clockwise. No particular words, just tell it who's the boss as you hit it.

The pics show the lock nut is still in place. Does that mean you haven't been able to undo it with the tool?
If so, why not?

Can you take a close-up pic of one of the other lock nuts in situ and post it here.
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!
