Lots of red lights and no gear indicator.

Post by John_Chapman61 »

Just got MR S with an SMT gearbox. Ran OK when I picked it up and was perfect for a 150 mile drive to get the car home. Next day it all went wrong. Battery Warning Light, Gearbox Selection Warning Light and even the oil warning light all came on. But no gearbox indicator, neutral or reverse indicator lights showing. Oh, and the temperature gauge stopped working too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the engine start/run ? Have you checked for blown fuses ? do you have a code reader ?
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour

Is your battery ok, I had a similar issue to this with the missus old Seat, battery was on it's way out and when the voltage dipped the dash lit up like a Christmas tree...

Thanks for the input. Yes the car runs fine and occasionally all seems normal. Then next day, back to flashing warning lights again.
I have checked the battery and all seems fine.

Can anyone recommend a MR2 MK3 specialist in the Cardiff area?
