I think its called "Road trip"!

Rev 3 GT Turbo Black (I think the colour is important).
Mongoose exhaust, other than that pretty standard.
It does have a bit of a misfire at the mo and a sticky caliper.

Best 36.8mpg

Also, on a side note, I did a whole tank 100% village and town center driver, mostly at rush hour and got 29.9mpg.

On a proper eco-burn at the mo Covered 60 miles & the needle hasn't moved yet ... hope it ain't stuck!

Looking back over my spreadsheet from the 4 1/2 years I've owned the car, the most I've ever got out of my rev5 N/A is 33.9mpg... and the least is 25.5mpg...

...but then I don't drive it like a pansy!

It's not really the point mate

I doubt anybody buys an MR2 to "drive like a pansy" or an octagenarian as i've recently been called but more to prove that - if you put your mind to it these can be proper frugal little cars

In any case ... 33.9 isn't even trying ...my worst in the N/A is down to 21 ... ish

The last time I put fuel in, I topped it up with 15 litres and that took me 75 miles, so 22.7MPG...lol. I have nearly finished my tank so will post an 'official' result then

Okay, at next fill up I'll start driving like Miss Daisy and see what I return... 1500rpm max, and short shifting it is then

mk2 rev2 NA, glimited import '93. blitz air filter, no other mods - not even wheels or tyres. import has different final drive in gearbox so 70mph was 3500rpm
no use of aircon during run,
full journey done on motorways in clear weather at a constant 70mph. no traffic jams etc.
normal 95ron esso fuel used.

330miles on a full tank, 29.96mpg

on the same drive (was in convoy) a '92 mk2 rev2 uk spec. mongoose exhuast, decat pipe, k&n filter, 16" wheels. 95rom esso fuel.

361 miles on a full tank, 32.77mpg.
mainly due to the lower revs at 70mph due to final drive ratio. 3000rpm @ 70mph.

both cars were run till they ran out of fuel and started to splutter. *assuming the tank can hold exactly 50L of fuel as they were filled till they could take no more.*
i can't remember the actual amount of fuel put in but neither car was fully empty when filled anyway. both cars were filled with the same fuel from the same petrol station and drove exactly the same route at the same speed. only stopping to fill up the import when it ran out of fuel first.

Rev 3 Turbo

* Apexi Induction
* Dep 2 Pro exhaust (with a number of holes in it!)
* 17inch wheels
* Stock boost
* 15w40 Semi Synth oil (only done 200miles)
* Falken ZE912 tyres (slightly oval due to long time sat still)
* Sticky rear brake calliper
* V-power
* No fault codes

Two week's worth of motorway work at conservative speed, with 15 minutes of town driving either end, some traffic. Two economy runs, no boost. Both gave 24-24.5mpg.

Since then:

* Spark Plugs replaced
* Dizzy cap / rotor arm replaced
* HT leads replaced (OEM)
* The rear brake calipers have been serviced and the discs/pads replaced
* Stock exhaust put on while the dep 2 is repaired
* Decatted
* Changing to fully synth 0w40 at the next service
* 4 xFalken FK452 tyres going on at the weekend

Will report back when that's all done!

im doing 19 mpg in a turbo and i think half my petrol is flames out of the exhaust

Your rev 3 and mine appear to get about the same mpg, Craig. It will be interesting to compare runs if we get the chance to try eco-style driving.

It would but I don't do eco driving, I'd get bored after 10 miles or so
I'm more than happy with 330ish miles to a tank. Our RX8 on the hand gets 280 miles to £87 worth of fuel!

But you're not even trying..... My V6 has managed a 13.92 on a heavy run, i believe some have managed single figures in a v6 too..... naming no names!
