Not to mention that there are 2 people claiming 236, one has to be wrong and if so why do they think it's 236 ? does that mean there are fakes out there ?

Tony
How about we leave this thread for chat etc and create a locked thread with the Registry on it. Only cars with evidence to be on the locked registry ? That way once it's decided there's enough evidence to add a car to the Registry it will have to be updated by a Mod/Admin

Is anyone unhappy with any of the cars on the existing list ? are we happy to use that as the initial starting point ?

jimi YHPM.
Personally, I think all entries ought to be subject to provenance - i.e. a (linked) pic of one or more of the distinguishing features. Preferably the engine lid cover as this the least likely item to have been swapped.
Anyone can claim the painting on their wall is by Rembrandt/Van Gogh/Picasso/etc....
They could be simply mistaken or
have been deceived.

TonyleFrog wrote:May I suggest that this thread now needs tidying up (keep it for listings only and start a new one for discussion/chat). At least one entry has no supporting evidence whatsoever. There ought to be a link to the source with pics which show one or more of the relevant features which distinguish a genuine example.
I posted several candidates on page 1 but forgot to update the list (remiss of me I know). Perhaps all future entries should be vetted by the mods for inclusion otherwise the 'registry' risks becoming devalued.
I assume Gaz has seen number 69 and can verify it as he quotes the registration number which AFAICS isn't mentioned in the ad. The pic is of no help and we only have the breakers' spiel that it really is a 10th anni.
I also note that it has been relisted several times and the most recent one has been pulled.
This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.
Hmmm. I wonder what error that might be...
Yes, I can confirm it is genuine number 69. It's just around the corner from me.
Sent from my boot to your "censored".

Ah, some additional info.
That number is already on the list but without the VRM (or location).

Register now located here
CLICKY
To be included we need the car's
Anniversary number
Registration number (optional)
Current Location.
There are many misrepresentations/fakes out there so to try and keep this accurate we need some kind of evidence, preferably documentation showing the number or a picture of the engine lid showing the badge and number.
Post the car details on this thread and once verified it will be added to the Register by a Mod/Admin

TonyleFrog wrote:There are relatively few truly unmolested examples. Almost all have had the factory fitted CD player substituted. Many have aftermarket wheels (some have OEM Rev 5 ones fitted).
The only cars I have seen personally which are close to original spec belong to Jono_GT and Blue_10.
This one may well meet with your approval Tony
CLICKY the only thing I can't see is the stereo.
