The rough plan (hence it being 3 years in the making and saving) is a 3 week trip to take in as many delights that Europe has to offer. A large loop route to drive as much as we can.

... It will be a driving holiday, that means lots of driving
... It will not be cheap

Ferry to the North......

Norway
- The Atlantic Ocean Road
- Trollstigen Road
- Latefossen waterfall

Sweden
- Oresund Bridge / Tunnel

Denmark

Germany
- Reeperbahn - Hamburg
- Nordschleife?
- Bavarian Forest?

Austria

Italy
- Rome
- Ferrari / Pagani / Lambo ?
- D97 into...

France

Spain

France
- Milau bridge

This is just a rough-out and open to discussion for sure. Get posting ideas and how we can take them all in! :D

Missed this one, interested in all of it!

Done a number of large Euro trips over the years and loved every one of them.

Might I suggest going further east too? Poland, Czec, Slovakia and Hungary. All wonderful places.

How many miles would this be and what sort of time span do you think the trip would be over?

Still to be confirmed at the moment but 2-3weeks I'd guess at and 3k+ miles

Yeah I'm not overly bothered about the distance but long periods of driving can be made a bit less tiring by co--drivers.

2-3 weeks will give us lots of change to get the distance in but it looks collossal, all those countries ?

Provisionally very interested, circumstances permitting of course.

The last Euro tour I was on did over 3k miles in 7 days, 10 countries and lots and lots of driving! 1k a week is easy going, it's like 3 hours driving a day on a 3 week trip.

Just did a really quick google map and bit of string count, to just touch each of those countries plus Rome and return to the UK is about 3500km starting from Norway. Having counted that, adding more countries does seem a bit optimistic. I retract my earlier commnet about adding more.

The total trip will be more than the direct route of 2100 miles just counted, so think Dave is quite close with 3000+ miles.

That's a lot of fuel stops at 180-230 miles a tank :D
fuel, 20 nights hotels, food, 2 ferry corssings, chunk of road tolls, spending money and contingency fund. £5-6k for the trip, not so bad.

I did a "two ball" rally which was 1200 miles and 8 countries over 7 days and it was hard work. You're in the car 6-7 hours and and not hanging around and it's a mad dash rather than a fun drive..

20 days of hotels and B&Bs is going to add up a bit, I can live with the fuel/ferry/toll costs :)

Hotel costs can be helped if we twin room it or more depending on how friendly we are lol, ill be in a room with Tammy so half each for us.

Country choice is going to affect costs a lot! A friend's just driven around Norway and Sweden and it was VERY expensive!!!
