good luck with the sale
Not Plan B again!! Why don't we just go with plan B in the first place?

Thanks for that I've already added it to the register It's a very fine example of an Anni you shouldn't have any trouble finding a buyer
Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
Thanks! It's not my own car, just helping the owner out. I've got more photos/videos if anyone wants them - a few of arches/sills showing no rust & a few of the minor paint blemishes. I took them on Sunday & it really is as good as it looks.

Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
Hi all, earlier this year I've bought myself an Autozam AZ1 from a collector in Japan through a dealer, It's an M2 1015 so quite rare kei car, I like special editions and rarities. (Pic for interest) There's a point to this I promise.
I've owned 6 MR2's over the last 15 years and I used to own no.155 many years ago. I've been looking to get back into my anniversary cars. Long story short the dealer in Japan I spoke to says the same guy has #001. Ive asked for pictures and background.
Can anyone verify that this car could be 001 and that it was exported? Did Toyota ever come back with a VIN record. Or can anyone spread any light to any rumours. The car he says is modified, but he doesnt know anymore?
Not sure the car is for sale, but I will ask.
Other than pucs anything else I can check. I know roughly what to look for from my ownership of 155 but any guidance happily taken.
Thanks,
Wayne

Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
In theory it could be #001, but it would have to have been exported from the UK to Japan as all 250 numbered Anniversary models were released by Toyota GB, seems pretty unlikely to me ... but possible.
Info here on Anni identification https://mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2/mk2/mk2 ... ition.html
AFAIK no VIN info on the Anniversary models was ever released by Mr T.
There was a JDM version of the Anniversary model, but different spec to the UK version and not numbered as far as we know.
Gaz! found this information on them

10th anniversary model, launched January 1995 in Japan. Based on the G limited. Only came in silver paint, five spoke wheels in grey, grey badging, Momo steering wheel and gearknob, Stainless steel treadplates. As well as Bilistein shocks. Think these were of a limited run, but were not numberedIn the UK they made 250 numbered examples with commemorative badges.

I will update the thread with any findings. Apparently its silvered, numbered and was imported from the UK.
The AZ1 is marmite, the doors are cool though.

Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
If it's a UK Anniversary then it could be either Lucerne Silver or Caribbean Blue and it should have all the identfiers shown in the KY2 article, although I'm not sure if the keyfob was standard or an option ?
Definitely post up any info/ pictures/history you get, being in Japan would explain why we've never seen hide nor hair of #001 before
There's very little info on the spec of the JDM version (other than what Gaz! posted) wasn't even called an Anniversary edition.
All the references I've found so far refer to a MR-2 G Limited Bilstein Package which was available in1995 only.
EDIT
Found this site https://cars.japanesecartrade.com/detai ... 8.729%20m3. which seems to suggest it was available in Black as well as Silver
