Driveshaft info

Post by CleMR2 »

Hi guys, haven't on here for ages so good to know it's still going. Anyway, I have a very nasty clunking sound at the moment and looking under the car today I can see that the inner boot on the drivers side driveshaft is fubared so it looks like I'm in for a new driveshaft. I have a MK1 V6 so am using MK2 N/A driveshafts which is why I'm posting in the MK2 section.

Does anyone know whether the driveshafts changed at all with the different revisions on the MK2 and do they all fit just the same? I know the turbo one's are different. Were the bearings the same throughout as I might just replace the bearing on mine although I'd be happy buying brand new if they weren't silly money.

They are all the same through the revisions. I have a rev 3 box in my rev1 v6 turbo. I am still using the original rev 1 shafts. Hope that helps pal

Doesn't have to new. Make a couple of phone calls.

Likewise. Good to know the Mk1 is still on the road. :th:
It's been a while: IIRC the 2016 Highland Drive and the blizzard on The Lecht!

I've ordered a second hand driveshaft from TCB for less than 70 quid so hopefully all is good.
