Ignition barrel

Hi have mr2 rev2 1993 ignition barrel has tumbler problem as can’t turn key it will turn if I tap I key with a hammer so at least I can remove barrel. So need to replace it is proving difficult to find one for sale, so I noticed a similar age celica barrel looks the same does anyone know if that or other Toyota barrels would fit

According to the EPC they are MR2 specific and can vary from Rev to Rev.

If it helps. I fitted a full set of locks from a uk rev 3 i to my jdm rev 1. Because the door key was different from the ignition. They all fitted fine.

Thanks. I feel that earlier models are the same. It’s finding the part and some other Toyotas in those years might fit so gives me a better chance of finding the part I’m after it’s if anyone knows what other models will work

I’d contact a breaker like J-Spec, they may well have what you need.

Some is selling a set in ebay for £70. All locks and complete ignition barrel. Just no glove box lock and the cubby box behind the drivers seat.
