Invite to Carrickfergus Car Show Sun 26 Aug by 1100

We have been given ten spaces at the Carrickfergus Car Show on Sunday 26 Aug 12.
The event is being held to raise money for the RNLI. There will be a small cost for each car on show, but the whole event is not for profit so it'll not be much. Attendance is unconfirmed but we have already got some numbers from Vauxhall, Subaru and BMW clubs so far. We may also be asked to be judges for 'best X of the day'. There will be food and trade stands there too and possible some prizes, maybe 'best MR2 of the day' but all is TBC.
Its first come, first served so get your name down for this ASAP!!!

I might pop down to this but I wont put my car on show. I need to get the 1 million stone chips sorted on the front and without that sorted I'm better to keep it away from any critical eyes
Don't stick me on the list but I will probably see you there

I'm in the same boat, but the more i think about the less inclined i am to get them sorted. Why pay a couple of hundred to get everything sorted only to find yourself back to square one again after a few months.

I have thought about buying a donor car, using the bits I need, selling as much as I can and scrapping the rest. Either this or buy the donor and swap the bits I need then try to shift the donor with my old bit on it.
At the minute I need, front nose & splitter, bonnet, headlight covers definitely all sorted. Probably need to sort the front arches and also need a new windscreen.
There is a NA carib blue on gumtree for not much money. If you need different bits then drop me a PM 'cause we could split the cost of buying and stripping the donor car

What makes you think the bodywork on the NA will be any better than your own? It's probably covered in stone chips as well.

Guys, its not about having a mint car! The BMW club are having a judged competition but the other clubs aren't. Lets get at least four of us in the 'show'. There will no doubt be some very scruffy VWs and Vauxhalls there!

There is always the chance it is in better condition and would cost less than a respray.
I'm not in a position to buy anything at the minute so I just drive fast so no-one sees the damage

There's no way my car could be considered show worthy, too many stone chips and the alloys are a mess.
