Hey Guys, I know this may have been covered and after lots of searching still not 100% sure.

My tachometer doesn't work so looking to change the capacitors but can see what size they should be. Anyone know/remember?

Are you sure that's what's wrong? If you think the actual gauge is dead then I'd be more inclined to get a drop-in replacement gauge rather than take a soldering iron to the circuit board. I'm not scared of soldering, BTW - I just think it's the easier and more reliable route, just to drop in a known working part. It's easy enough to get the tacho gague by itself. If you're local to me, you'd be welcome to pop round and we'll test fit one of my spare ones.

Had this with mine.

Spare set of clocks bought, swapped out the tacho and it worked. Not worth the effort doing anything else given the cost of a full set of clocks.

Can't off you the spare tacho I have as it's dead. Will sell it on Scumtree as a dial that gives an instant 100 bhp lol

I'm in Australia (originally from Manachester) but that's for the offers. I'm not sure that is the issue, I have a stinger ems ecu so not sure if it could be that? But the dash is off to fit some dial rings so might as well change and see what happens

there are guides on youtube.

its easy, i replaced mine when i thought i had a tach issue, turns out id wired the igniter wire wrong, so tach wasnt getting a signal.

Going to revive this thread, as I'm also facing this issue.

My tach read correctly once, ever since I got it starting last week. Since then it's been dead.
Engine runs fine so musn't be an igniter fault, so I'm looking into replacing the capacitors.

I've read almost everywhere, that the replacements are 2 x 10uF capactiors, however, for me it's 1 x 10uF and 1 x 4.7uF. Is this correct?

Replace like for like would be my advice.

Thanks Jimi, I've replaced both caps.
It seems to work but the needle springs to 2k when the key is turned, then revs to 3k at idle.
I just took the needle out and put it in the correct position and now it reads 1k at idle.

Seems alright to me. Looks like I need to diagnose this idle issue though!
