Avoid red-stuff pads if you're thinking of going on track ever :th:

Re: Stuttering on boost

Car will be back with me in a few weeks better than ever. I'd be looking for another engine if you want back anytime soon. Most of the ones I've seen like yours destroy the crank when it fails. Might be able to source a new or re-ground crank but just make sure there are no hidden stress fractures....

Re: Stuttering on boost

It will be transported for sure.

I’ve pinned a note on the steering wheel that says ‘Deathed engine. DO NOT START”.

Re: Stuttering on boost

Rebuild is booked in with MR2Ben. Head gasket needs doing anyway plus I’ll get the turbo upgraded plus anything else wrong with the engine will be rectified whilst it is out of the car. Admittedly it wasn’t the smartest move to put it on the dyno but I’ve made my bed so to speak. Car will be back wi...

Re: Stuttering on boost

When I say stuttering it’s more like a sudden jolt of loss of power like something is purposely being cut off. It happens once only rather than a constant lack of power.

Sorry if I’ve worded this wrong.

Stuttering on boost

Visited a mate 50 miles away today, no dramas and no boosting on the way there other than my engine management light being on as it has been for weeks. It comes on after about 15 minutes driving. Decided to show my mate what the car is capable of and floored it only to have the car stutter pretty ba...

Looking at mine I have nothing from the top hinge bolt up to the plastic piece that holds the current engine lid support bar.
The hole that mine fits onto is the bottom hole of the engine lid drip tray on the underside of the raised , vented engine lid.
