Re: Berk Exhaust System

Hi, I managed to purchase it from a forum member. They are rare over here. I believe they can still be bought from Berk but that it is an import.

Re: Berk Exhaust System

Got my Berk fitted a few weeks ago. So far I've had a dep2 std and the japspeed.

I do a fair amount of long distance motorway trips. The Berk is similar to the dep2 and does not drone. It sound lovely with the foot down and people do not hear me arriving a few streets away.

Re: airco radiator

I've ordered mine from RockAuto, came to about £230 with delivery and Tax. Should be arriving in a few days. Also got a box of O Rings from amazon and a drier ordered from TCB Parts. Getting at the bolt on the condenser behind the bumper has proven to abit of a pain but i'm going to drain the coolan...

Re: Save your Mk2 - my sill restoration experience

Opie Oils sell the Dynax S50 and they have 20% off until this evening, they often have 20% deals to be honest but £25.42 delivered for 2 cans.

Re: Save your Mk2 - my sill restoration experience

Ive just spent the weekend covering the lip of the sill in POR15, found the jacking points on the lip had started to rust a little. Also while i was at it i painted in the rear arch where it meets the sill (fortunately rust free). Then today Ive overcoated the POR15 with 2 coats of hammerite as POR1...

Actually just found this, TC of 3s, did you find anything faster for a reasonable amount?

Re: Temperature sensor to car pc

What Thermistors were you using with the Arduino, ive spent a fair amount of time trying to find something with a fast response but not had much luck.

Re: The MK2 MPG / Fuel Consumption Thread

I normally fill up and reset the mileage and fill up when doing long journeys and calculate the MPG but never record it. Anyway, my first Rev2 turbo would struggle to get less than 29/30mpg when driving relativly hard, 33/34 was not uncommon when doing motorway runs, i even managed near 37mpg on my ...

Re: Got me a mk1

adjusted the idle screw, it was nearly fully screwed in, adjusted now so when warm its a smidge below 1k revs. Took the car out for a blast, rad is now warming up, took for another blast. Needle sits at halfway and doesnt budge. This was the first time ive taken it out and given its some revs, :) wo...

Re: Got me a mk1

Hi Luke, cheers :) Just changed the thermostat and flushed the coolant. Looks like i got most of the air out, temp gauge got to near half way (this is just parked up) but the rad didnt get warm so im just letting it cool a little, see if it needs topping up then will take for a spin. Now i need to f...

Re: Got me a mk1

Cheers, my only worry with draining the full system is that they have used the normal green coolant in the past so flushing the entire system will be fun :) at least i will know what is in it. Agreed, thermostat first, then tackle the rest :) need to check i have the clear pipes for bleeding first. ...

Re: Got me a mk1

Found the sensor near the alt, resistance was about right, managed to remove the connector to the one for the ECU but could not get the connectors from my multimeter in. Ran the car on idle for about 25 mins. Blow worked, could fell the pipe to the heater matrix get hot, slowly the pipes to the rad ...

Re: Got me a mk1

ok thanks, i was thinking if it wasnt the sensors it could be the thermostat stuck wide open but would have expected it to have gotten warmer than it did. Im going to see if i can find the sensor near the alternator and check the connection, also if i can find my multimeter i will check the ecu temp...
