I've had my suspicions for a while along with a couple of my family members but I don't know where I would start or how to even tell (if you can).
It was sold as a UKDM 1998 3SGE 2.0 GTi.
Any ideas I could check out to either confirm or deny the allegations?
Wouldn't make a difference to me whether it was or wasn’t but it might help clarify a few things up.

PM me the VIN number that is on the car, not the number on the V5 unless they are the same, if they are different send me both. I can tell you when the shell was built and if it's JDM or UK
