lowered - not quite right?
So looking under my new rust bucket planning my future work I noticed this link from the suspension down doesn't look correct to me.
I am a mechanic, but motorbikes, so there's a ton of terminology to translate and get used to. For the longest time I have just been buying cars and having serviced and replacing so this is my first big car project.
Anyway - I'm wondering if the previous owner when fitting lowering springs should have altered this link at all? Is it adjustable or require a shorter one?
As I plan to replace all shocks with KYB I want to do anything like this while I am in there, as well as de-rustifying anything I can.

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Is that the drop link between the body and ARB (Anti Roll Bar, runs across the car to the other side) ?
Depending on the amount of drop it may need ( or already has been) shortened. With the car sitting on its wheels it should sit horizontal (approx)

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Yes - exactly that, drop link from the shock body to the anti roll bar.
Looks like it's a little too short then - is there any adjustability I cannot see or what length drop link do I need for a lower car? I believe it's on Tein springs but no idea how much shorter - 100% they are stock dampers/shocks.

Re: lowered - not quite right?
I see mr2 ben has adjustable ones, seems the way to go to do the job properly.

Re: lowered - not quite right?
The standard ones aren't adjustable (unless you cut/weld them)
He's a bit expensive, might be worth shopping around. How far from horizontal is your ARB at present ?

Re: lowered - not quite right?
I've just looked at MR2 Ben's price, he's having a giraffe
These look much more unreasonably priced https://www.spring-loaded.co.uk/proddet ... 07%7EZZW30 and there's probably others available with a bit of googling

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Thanks jimi - this site has already saved me more than the subscriptions cost in one item of advice
Seriously appreciate this.
My other car sold this morning (deposit taken) so hopefully will be going mr2 parts shopping in a couple of weeks. I'll post up my list for members to warn me of any mistakes

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Would someone be able to measure a stock ride height car for me? Say ground to top of inside of wheel arch?
I'd like to see just how much this is lowered as I think it's quite extreme and may do something a little in the middle.
From the ground to edge of rear wheel arch is about 61mm on mine.

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Picture quality is very poor, sorry, if you can't read it it's in the MK3 BGB to find it open the pdf it and go to Index of /Toyota/mr2 spyder/Repair Information/Repair Manual/16 - Suspension and Axle then you want 03 - Front Wheel Alignment - Inspection.pdf, page 1 has the measurements and where to measure

Re: lowered - not quite right?
Checked and seems 30mm lower rear and 25 front. Seems to match the Tein springs.
Now to get some KYB ordered and fitted - and drop links.
