MR-S Brakelight Retaining Bolts/Screws

Post by Whisperhead »

Hello all,

A little conundrum I've come across while giving my new car a once-over.

I have a 2000 MR-S car.

The brakelights are clearly held in on the car with a bolt/screw and grommet combo - the white plastic grommets are in place, but the screws (or bolts) are not. Can anyone help me source some new ones? Or if the size is generic, tell me what Ill need that will securely fit?

Thank you in advance!

Jay

http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/jp/200 ... 9015960498
Part number is 90159-60498, stick that into Google and you'll get a multitude of options, Amazon, eBay etc ;) it's basically a self tapper that screws into a plastic insert, using the part number should ensure the correct size.

Fantastic! I suspected there would be some library/archive/schematic site online somewhere, but I'm still new to these cars and my Google abilities failed me.
I really appreciate the help, nice one jimi! That's one more issue off the list.

The best way to use that site is to input your VIN (for an import like your car make sure you select the Japan market or it is unlikely to recognise your VIN )
Same if you go to Mr T (your local Toyota dealer) he will ask for your VIN as the Toyota EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue) uses it to ensure the correct parts for your specific car.
Although depending on the dealer they may well claim they can't check parts for imports :)

Thank you for that jimi - good info to know, and very helpful!
I've added a bookmark for the site. Managed to find a set of the screws on Amazon, along with some bumper grommets which were also missing, so all will be well.
