Beams into Rev III

Post by SlipSlide »

Long time no post guys, busy with the Irish site these days and I look in on you all here each day but input very little  .

So a beams has come into my sights and I have asked the owner for a price on the following that I think is needed to complete a Rev 5 beams into Rev 3 N/A JDM 10th anniversary chassis.

Engine.
Gearbox.
Drive-shafts and rear hubs.
Wiring loom.
Complete intake system.
Full exhaust system.
ECU.
I may need the clocks as well?

Now before I get loads of turbo talk, I have a turbo block, loom, gearbox etc in my garage and getting built next year. I also have a V6 Mrk I which is going to be resurrected after the Highland run for track use.

So I am partial to a bit of Beams action, infact I think it might be the perfect mate to my driving style.

Anybody want to share experience, I want the conversion to be as factory as possible in every detail as you can understand.

Good to see you still around Ray! :clapping:

Protok is your best bet on this subject, I know not a lot of the Beams stuff, only the more powerful engines :D JK!

Black beasty as in my sig sat on my driveway Ray :th:

Slowly falling out of love of the MGB - need to make some room in the garage for some more projects - hopefully with less weight and 8 cylinders ;)

Well the conversion work is off, I am giving a deposit for the full car on Tuesday, collect it next weekend once its up to standard :D

It had a encounter with a ladder on a dual carriageway so has some frontal damage, hopefully it not to bad and the guy selling is sound to deal with so far.

Have wanted a Beams engined MR2 since I heard they existed.

Bad new  , my Mrk I V6 is being collected today to go to a better home and somebody who will get the time to spend on it.
