Bodyshop suggestions Oxfordshire - Sill repairs

Post by mitoand9 »

Hi everyone,

I've been having my Mk2 for a few years now and I love it.

Recently, I decided to do some (minor) work on the sills, since they started showing some rust spots. After sanding down the first spot, some holes started appearing and it was clear that they were rusting from the inside.

I don't know how bad the inner sills are, but I would like to fix the rust damage that both inner and outer sills have and prevent it from spreading further. I had some water leaks too from the TBar, which probably means the floor needs some work too. I attached some pics of the sills rust spots.

I'm in the Oxfordshire area and I'd like to know if any of you are familiar with some good bodyshops that would be up to the task.
I would be up for a proper job if necessary. I reached a point where I'd be up to parking my MR2 even for some time (weeks/months) and get it done properly (I daily it..).

Until now, I talked to JFBodyworks, which seems like a good one, but the guy is busy for the next year.
Plan is to talk to a couple more in the Bicester area, but if you guys have experience with any other good ones please let me know!

Not Plan B again!! Why don't we just go with plan B in the first place?

I'd take a trek north 2hrs to Midlands MR2. I don't think they are taking on any more work until August though if you can wait. Andy
