Burning Smell ???
I recently got a rev5 sw20 and seemed to notice a burning brake smell coming from the engine bay after a drive. I have checked that it isn't the brakes binding or anything like that (brakes are all the same temp) so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. The car was also recently undersealed before I got it so I was thinking maybe underseal burning off that got on the downpipe area. Can't seem to see or hear any issues with the cam belt. Any help or suggestions are much appreciated
. I understand similar issues have been previously discussed but can't seem to find an answer that doesn't point to issues that I have not already checked.

Re: Burning Smell ???
Is your clutch slipping. i.e revs rising but not going any faster. Usually in higher gears at lower speed.

Re: Burning Smell ???
Can you tell if it’s electrical / oil / rubber burning?
The burning underseal is a real possibility. Had it with a 350z. Doesn’t take a lot, just a bit of overspray onto the cat.
Keep an eye on your oil level just in case.

Re: Burning Smell ???
Check the rubber CV boots make sure they have not split, this chucks grease around the place and onto hot exhaust pipes.
