Correct springs for Bilstein B6 shocks?

Post by Klawrence »

Anyone know is there is a specific spec of spring recommended for the B6 front shocks on a 93 MK2?

I replaced the old rusty lowering springs that were on mine with KYB RD1613s, which seemed to be the recommended model for the car. I wanted a stock ride height to match the new B6s and KYBs on the back.

However when fitting them, I needed to really compress the springs right down to get the top nut on. The ride feels fine but it just looks like it’s sitting really quite high at the front and I was wondering if those KYBs are only recommended for the stock Toyota shocks? The B6 shocks on mine were an upgrade.

Maybe it just needs time to bed in and sag a little?
