I'm going to have a look at a 2nd hand MKIII tomorow, is there anything i should keep my eye out for?
Car has covered 45k and has had 2 owners, as far as i know the body work is in good condition.

Check its HPI clear, can be easily fooled with the panels that pop off.

Check vvti kicks in at around 4k and works as it should
Drives straight, no pulling to either side
No engine management lights
Check if pre cats have been removed
OIl + filter history, something that a lot of people who bought them having a mid life crisis forgot to do properly.
Tyres arent the same all round so you have a stagger.
Check the coolant looks clean
Start it from cold listen out for a creaky chain
