Mk2 Turbo import - are the front struts the same as n.a. model
My Mk2 Turbo, which I believe was a Japanese import, has a seized front strut top bearing. Toyota list a part which is on 4 weeks delivery. Does anyone know if this is this actually the same as the normally aspirated UK model?

Doh, I didn't think to get the part numbers!
My local garage had contacted Toyota for the part availability and Toyota had a part listed for the Japanese Turbo but they couldn't tell if it was the same as a UK n/a, apparently. That would suggest that it is a different part number, but they might not actually have checked. It is £140 and 4 weeks delivery. I wasn't too worried about the price but 4 weeks is a long time for the garage to look after the car. If the part number was the same then I would have expected a shorter lead time - 4 weeks is possibly the shipment time from Japan.
I will speak to them tomorrow and see if I can get the respective part numbers.

Yes the top mount is the same for Turbo and N/A, Part number 48609-17030
I would suggesting getting the KYB top mount as they are OEM quality but saving some pounds.

You will want a dust cover too, over priced imo but not much choice.

Who ever they contacted at Toyota didn't know how to use the Toyota. EPC properly, with a part number it's easy to check what models/market it applies to

Thanks for the help, guys, that is a great help.
It is good to know that I won't have to wait another 4 weeks to drive it again - I need a fix sooner than that!
