No speakers / Ariel working
I recently changed my rear 9cm speakers and they were working nicely but then I’ve now got no sound what so ever.
Also noticed the electric Ariel is not working now too.
Checked all the fused and okay.
The only other things I’ve played around with are the rear lights doing a quad light conversion but surely this wouldn’t interfere?
Any ideas?
I have an aftermarket stereo but it was working before

Check these fuses,
15A DOME
15A RAD & CIG
15A TAIL
and possibly
7.5A ECU-IG

Hi. I checked every fuse and all looks good.
I’ll change them one just to rule out

Do you still have the Active Amplifiers connected. their max power output is only for 2 Ohms speakers so your new speakers ( I'm guessing 8 Ohm) might have blown them .
Main amplifier is under side trim behind passenger seat behind the seatbelt, and then two more sub units below on each side.

Oh good question.
Would they be connected via the RCA outputs? If so then no as these are not connected. So I thought I was using the head units amp.
I might see if I can trace the wire and see if they are connected.
Just weird the sound and electric antenna both stopped working at same time

Not all MK2's had amps and subs only active systems had them, passive systems didn't. Have a look in KY2, there's a couple of articles on the sound systems https://mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2/mk2/mk2-interior.html

Re: No speakers / Ariel working
8 ohm car speakers would be pretty unusual, most common are 4ohm impedance.
I take it the headunit is powering up ? If it is make sure it hasn't been switched to a mode that you don't have an input for i.e.aux with nothing connected to the aux input.
The fact that sound & antenna stopped working at the same time (and at the time when your were doing a rear light conversion) would appear to be more than coincidence.

Re: No speakers / Ariel working
The stereo was all working well, even when I changed over I of the new speakers.
Then I was doing some playing around with wires trying to fit remote central locking (which I’ve now given up for a bit) and the rear quad light conversion.
The unit all powers up and switch between radio and Bluetooth etc and no sound at all.
