Thanks Michael and the Kent Car Club for organising a great day out. Great hospitality and nice to meet a few new people. Couldn't have hoped for much better weather.

Agreed Stu!

Superb day, excellent drifting, amazing weather though outside of what we could control, the two dampeners for me were;

- the idiots in the blue & green 106's who slammed into the back of the traffic queue whilst ...erm ... "convoying in close proximity", wrecking 5 cars and numerous peoples day out.

- BHP Show for their traffic management. Nothing like Japfest where the queues are of biblical proportions but still, if the guy on the gate selling tickets wasn't having a 2 minute chat with most people then i dare say it'd taken less than 45 minutes to get in - and point 1 would have been avoided. This was clearly not enough numbers on the gate to deal with the volume of people and, as for sending stand cars to the bottom gate ...? why???? to queue for a further 20 minutes drive back up the field to get to where we needed to be!

In any case, only a minor bitter taste on such an excellent day for all who made it! :D

Thank you Michael & KCC

Missed all that Dan as we opted to arrive at 7am. Bit of a struggle as left home at 4am but hardly any queue :). Sorry to hear about the crash though.

Thank you all the hard work in organising this event, making all those sandwiches alone must have taken days. ;)

:rolleyes: It's not as if it's the first time though. I have seen t*****h driving every year on the way down the A2. Those who attended in 2011 may remember the shenaningans that ensued when another bunch of clowns caused a serious crash which resulted in the air ambulance being needed and the police closing the A2 for several hours.

It doesn't help that coastbound traffic has to loop back at these lights to get to the circuit. The sheer numbers soon cause the slip road queue to overflow into the 'fast' lane. The chain reaction ripples way back up the d/c and is very counter-intuitive for those not expecting it.

I doubt it would have avoided point 1 but it certainly won't have helped. Many gate marshals do not have traffic management experience/training. The organisers have to take what they get. That said, much depends on the quality of the briefing and whether people are taking it all in.

Antics? Moi?

All I can say in response to that is Francis Urquhart!
